Negative Ions

Negative ions are odourless, tasteless, and invisible molecules that we inhale in abundance in certain environments. They are created in nature by the effects of water, air, sunlight and the Earth’s inherent radiation.

The air we breathe

Most forms of pollution, toxic chemicals, pollen, mold, pet dander, smoke and other harmful chemicals in the air are positive ions. In areas that are ripe with harmful positive ions, there is an increased chance of you getting sick. This is because airborne toxins and allergens are generally perpetuated by positive ions.

Negative ions attach themselves to positive ions, neutralizing them. Negative ions also repel or push positive ions away, decreasing airborne viruses and bacteria. The more distance we have from positive ions, the healthier we will be!

Serotonin

Studies have shown that negative ions produce biochemical reactions that increase our levels of Serotonin, helping boost mood, relieve stress and increase energy.

With a normal level of serotonin, you have;

  • more of a feeling of control in situations where you would typically be overwhelmed.

  • the ability to rest, relax & sleep.

The remainder of Serotonin is left to perform other tasks for your body, one of which involves your ability to sleep.

What this means is two very important things for your wellness, better sleep and less stress!

Brain Drain

Frequent headaches are a common occurrence in work, school, and public settings due to disruption and lack of exposure to negative ions. We are constantly exposed to electromagnetic frequencies and airborne allergens that can trigger headaches and a loss of focus at any time.

Being exposed to negative ions can improve the flow of oxygen to your brain, which in turn, impacts the level of concentration and attentiveness you can maintain throughout the day.

“An increase in exposure to negative ions can have a combative effect for both you and the environment you occupy.”
